The Love Revolution by Joyce Meyer

About the Author

Joyce Meyer is the bestselling author of more than seventy inspirational books, including THE CONFIDENT WOMAN, LOOK GREAT, FEEL GREAT and BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND. Joyce's 'Enjoying Everyday Life' radio and television programmes are broadcast around the world, and she travels extensively conducting conferences.

Overview

Joyce Meyer is not satisfied with the status quo. She believes that we each need to become a revolutionary and practice love every day. And if Joyce has her way, the revolution will spread - person by person, house by house, town by town, until the old culture of selfishness and greed gives way to a new culture of concern for others.

The book is a revolutionaries' manual, a hands-on primer for bringing the Golden Rule to life in the twenty-first century. Meyer starts out by giving some stunning statistics.

Right now...210,000 children will die this week because of poverty; 640 million children do not have adequate shelter; every day, 3,000 children are abducted into the sex-trafficking industry; every day, 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes. She goes on to say that although crisis is global, the solution is local. We can't solve the world's problems, but that isn't a reason to remain idle.

LOVE REVOLUTION focuses on personal behavior on the local scale. It's not just a call to action; it is a call to being: being the person who goes out of your way to encourage someone who's out of hope; being the one who smiles at a stranger; being the one who is willing to do something for nothing. The paradox: when we do something for nothing, what we often get is something far greater.

Review
"Believers and nonbelievers alike will appreciate her "nine habits of highly effective Christians." Listeners familiar with the author's strident speaking voice will enjoy hearing her smooth writing delivered by her youngest daughter, whose voice has her mother's timbre but is more appealing in its innocence and emotional steadiness."

Two Kinds of Love
When our Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth, he introduced a new kind of love – Agape or Agapao Love ,when the world knew only Phileo love.

It is interesting that a check to Strong's Concordance reveals the word as having an uncertain origin. But we know the origin – Jesus!

Check Strong's Concordance:
  1. Strong's 25 (Agapao) – verb form (action)
  2. Strong's 26 (Agape) - noun form (person, place or thing)
I might say it like this. It is that kind of Agapao (Love in Action) that kept Jesus (The Agape – Love Personified) on the Cross and the same kind of love mentioned in John 3:16For God so loved (Agapao) the world that He gave His only begotten Son (The Agape) that whosoever believeth in Him (The Agape) should not perish but have evelasting life.

In 1 John 4:8 – God is Love. (Strong's 26 – Agape; Noun)

So, when we put 1 John 4:8 and John 3:16 side by side, we realise this:

The Person of Love (Agape), loved (Agapao) sinners that much to send us heaven's best, Jesus Christ!

This is substantiated by 1 John 4:10 – In this is love (Agape – the Person), not that we loved (Agapao) God but He loved (Agapao) us and sent us His Son (The Agape) to be the propitiation for our sins.

And this very act of love is the Grace (unearned, unmerited and undeserved favor) bestowed on us. Why so? Because while we were still His enemies , God shows and clearly proves His Own love for us by sending His Son to die for us (Romans 5:8-10). And this is what makes Grace so amazing!

Any one really serious about getting to know the Person of Grace cannot help but feast on these gourmet spread:

Jesus asked Peter three times if he (Peter) loves Him. Each was talking on a different frequency of love. (John 21:15-17). Phileo is Strong's 5368. Using Strong's numbering to illustrate the interesting dialogue:

1st Time:
2nd Time
3rd Time
Jesus: Peter, do you “25” me?

Jesus: Peter, do you “25” me?

Jesus: Peter, do you “5368” me?

Peter: Yes, Lord. I “5368” you.
Peter: Yes Lord. You know I “5368” you.
Peter: Lord, you know all things that I “5368” you.

Can you see how “off radar” Peter was? Like chicken talking to duck!

In “The New Kind of Love”, Dr E W Kenyon (1867 – 1948) expounds further on this new kind of love. He explains why Jesus asked Peter the love question three time and used “5368” the third time He asked the question.

Sense the Father's love for you when reading the book. You will be blessed! Read also Joyce Meyer's The Love Revolution.

Who Is Dr E W Kenyon

Dr E W Kenyon was known as the “Father” of Faith in his generation. I feasted on 19 of his books consecutively. I walked away persuaded and convinced to simply STAND on God's Word (Ephesians 6:13 - Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.) . God gave me His Word! Not some Tom, Dick or Hary but the Creator of the entire Universe!

And since we are on the topic of faith, you might want to have yours pumped up by brother Kenyon's “Two Kinds of Faith”.
